Kim Mahoney has worked extensively around the state of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ performing project management
for planning, design and construction of state-owned facilities. Mahoney has performed
masterplanning and capital projects for AVTEC in Seward and in 2016 completed a $139M
project for the State Library Archives and Museum in Juneau Âé¶¹´«Ã½ for the Department
of Education and Early Development. Mahoney received a degree from University of
Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Fairbanks in civil engineering and similarly holds a professional engineering
license in civil engineering. Mahoney was raised in remote Âé¶¹´«Ã½n lodges at Hatcher
Pass and later at Lake Louise and for over 45 years has enjoyed the Âé¶¹´«Ã½n frontier
and its peoples for their ruggedness and the grit it takes to live here.
Mahoney is married to an UAA alumni and life-long Âé¶¹´«Ã½n, Tim, whose family homesteaded
in the Matanuska Valley in the 1960's. They have two children and their son is currently
a UAA student.
